For spa-goers exhausted by one-size-fits-all-scents, skincare company Lather has designed a personalized aromatherapy massage program for the new Chicago-area Arista Spa & Salon (Naperville, IL). The program allows guests to make their own signature combinations, drawing on 15 essential oils made from pure botanical extracts and inspiration from suggested pairings, such as eucalyptus and lavender for seasonal allergies and lemon-grass and lime for a clean scent suitable for year-round use. An Arista therapist works with each clients to craft the perfect blend, which then features in the light-touch Aromatika Massage ($135, 60 minutes; $165, 90 minutes). After the treatment, guests can take their creations home in a custom-labeled amber apothecary bottle. The intoxicating fragrances certainly send a message in a bottle that guests won’t soon forget.
